Usage Settings

Define how Unity uses your Developer Data.
Read time 1 minuteLast updated a day ago

Manage how Unity, and its products and services, use your Developer Data. Unity only uses your Developer Data for the purposes you select in the Usage Settings. When you use a Unity product or service that requires Developer Data, you allow Unity to use that data to provide you the service and specifically for your benefit. Specify additional usage settings to enable Unity to use your data for additional purposes to benefit you and the Unity ecosystem.
Important
If your app is directed to children and you are not a Unity Ads customer, keep the following two data usage settings turned off:
  • Customer facing features and functionality
  • Modeling contributions aggregated insights
These settings rely on controls that are currently available only for Unity Ads. When the same support is available for non-Ads products, this guidance will be updated.

Setting

Description

Your Unity products and servicesDeveloper Data allows Unity to provide you with products and services and to improve your direct experience as a customer of those products and services.
Note
This setting cannot be disabled.
Customer facing features and functionalityProvide data to enable various features and functionality that require appropriately aggregated and abstracted cross-developer data. Depending on their specific data needs, certain features may require that you allow your data to be used in this way in order for you to use the feature yourself. Any such features are clearly indicated so that you can make informed and intentional decisions about your data. This doesn't allow Unity to share or otherwise make your Developer Data available to other developers in a raw, granular, unfiltered, or otherwise identifiable format.
Modeling contributions aggregated insightsProvide data for anonymized benchmarks or trend comparisons to opted-in developers who agree to contribute their aggregated data.
This also authorizes Unity to use your appropriately aggregated Developer Data to improve its ML models, drive engine intelligence, or deliver industry-wide insights.
This setting allows Unity to combine your Developer Data with data from other opted-in users for the specified usage purpose.
Technical supportGrant Unity’s support team access to your Developer Data for troubleshooting and resolution of your support tickets.
Recommendations for your businessEnable Unity to suggest features, services, or best practices based on patterns in your data and how other users are succeeding with Unity.
