Create a collection

How to organize Unity Cloud Assets into a Collection that you can use to identify assets associated with a single project, subject, or purpose.

Last updated a year ago

Collections are simple containers inside a Project where you can organize your assets. Collections have no role in user management - all users with access to your Asset Manager Project have permission to see any Collections that exist in it.
You can nest Collections up to 6 levels deep under a Project.
Note
Once you create a Collection, you cannot move it within another Collection or to another Asset Manager Project.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you meet the following prerequisites:
  • You must have at least the Contributor role in the Asset Manager project where you want to add a Collection.

Create a Collection

To create new Collection:
  1. Make sure you are signed into Unity Cloud and have the correct permissions in the Asset Manager Project to which you will add the new Collection.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • From the Asset Manager web interface, next to the Create asset button, select the menu (...) button.
    • From the main library view for your Asset Manager Project, next to Add Asset, select the arrow button.
  3. Select Create Collection.
  4. In the Collection Name field, enter a meaningful name for this collection of assets.
  5. (Optional) To create the new collection in a different Asset Manager Project, select Change location and select the correct project.
  6. Select Create.
The new Collection appears in the list of available Collections for this Asset Manager Project.
Important
Access controls and permissions do not apply to Collections; only the Assets within the Collection.
