How to configure a project for Unity cloud
Read time 2 minutes
Last updated 4 months ago

When you create a Unity Editor project in the Unity Hub, you can choose to create a new Unity cloud project, or to link it to an existing Unity cloud project. This process assigns a cloud Project ID to your project.
If you need to link a local Unity project to a Unity cloud project, you can use either of the following methods:
  • Link to a new or existing Unity cloud project from the Editor.
  • Link to an existing cloud project with the UGS CLI

Link to a Unity cloud project from the Editor

To use the Unity Editor to link a project to a cloud project, ensure you're signed in to the Unity Hub, and then complete the following steps:
  1. Open your project in the Unity Editor.
  2. Select Edit > Project Settings, and then select Services.
  3. Add a project ID in one of the following ways:
    • Link the Unity Editor project to an existing cloud project:
      1. Select Use an existing cloud project.
      2. Select an organization and a cloud project, and then select Link Unity project to cloud project.
    • Create a new Unity cloud project:
      1. Select Create a new cloud project.
      2. Select an organization, and then select Create new cloud project and link to Unity project.
Your project is now linked to a cloud project.
After you have linked your Editor project, the Services General Settings window displays additional settings. You can unlink the project and define a COPPA compliance setting.

Link to a Unity cloud project with the CLI

To use the UGS CLI to link an Editor project to a cloud project, you need to configure a Project ID. To find your Project ID in the Unity Dashboard, complete the following steps:
  1. Select Projects and select the project you want to use.
  2. Select the Settings tab and scroll down to the Project ID item.
