Asset Manager viewer window reference

Explore the properties and settings available in the viewer to inspect assets, control camera behavior, customize grid and wireframe displays, and manage viewing tools.

Use the Asset Manager viewer to inspect and annotate 2D and 3D assets. For 3D assets, you can adjust camera views, customize grid and wireframe displays, and capture snapshots. To open the viewer:
  1. Select an asset. The side panel opens.
  2. At the bottom of the side panel, expand the Preview section.

Viewer toolbar

Explore the properties in the viewer window, starting at the upper-left corner and moving clockwise.

Property

Function

Environment, Lighting, BackgroundConfigure the Environment, Lighting, and Background settings in the viewer to control how assets appear.
Materials overrideView the material channels assigned to a 3D asset.
AnnotateAdd visual feedback to 2D and 3D assets.
Wireframe settingsShow or hide the wireframe and select a wireframe color.
Grid settingsShow or hide the grid and customize the grid.
Camera settingsControl the camera view mode and alignment.
Enter full screenExpand the viewer to full screen mode.
Keyboard shortcutsView keyboard shortcuts for navigation and scene selection.
Snapshot viewerDownload a snapshot of the current view.
Viewer settingsConfigure camera movement, speed, and clipping behavior.

Environment settings

Explore the properties in the Environment settings in the upper-left corner of the viewer window.
Note
The background is blurred by default. Turn off Blur Background to remove the blur.

Property

Function

Pure diffuseUse unlit, diffuse shading to show base colors and materials without environmental influence.
StudioUse a controlled studio setup to simulate balanced ambient lighting and soft reflections.
MorningUse a sky-based lighting environment with soft, warm tones to simulate magic hour lighting.
SunnyUse strong overhead direct lighting to simulate bright highlights and defined shadows.
CloudyUse diffused sky lighting to simulate overcast conditions.
NightUse low, desaturated lighting with a night sky to simulate nighttime conditions.
City NightUse an urban night environment to simulate artificial lighting and complex reflections.

Lighting settings

Explore the properties in the Lighting settings in the upper-left corner of the viewer window.

Property

Function

Directional light toggleEnable or disable the directional light in the scene.
HDRI Rotation sliderAdjust the rotation of the HDR environment to change lighting direction and reflections.
Note
Turn on Snap to Model Ground Plane to align the asset with its bounding box.

Background settings

Explore the properties in the Background settings in the upper-left corner of the viewer window.

Property

Function

Background colorSet a solid color as the background for the viewer.
HDR Background toggleEnable or disable the HDR environment as the background.
Blur Background toggleEnable or disable background blur to reduce visual detail and improve focus on the asset.
Note
To remove the background color, select a different environment.

Wireframe settings

Explore the properties in the Wireframe settings in the upper-right corner of the viewer window.

OffHide the wireframe on the 3D asset.
Wireframe on shadedShow the wireframe on the 3D asset.
Show bounding boxDisplay the bounding box around the selected asset.
ColorSelect a color for the wireframe.

Grid settings

Explore the properties in the Grid settings in the upper-right corner of the viewer window.

Function

GridShow or hide the grid in the viewer.
Axes enabledShow or hide the grid axes.
Snap to Model Ground PlaneTurn alignment to the ground plane on or off to position the asset accurately.
ScaleSet the spacing between grid lines.
SizeSet the overall dimensions of the grid.
OpacityAdjust the transparency of the grid.
PlaneSelect the plane on which the grid is displayed.

Camera settings

Explore the properties in the camera settings in the upper-right corner of the viewer window.

Function

OrthographicSwitch the camera to an orthographic view to remove perspective distortion.
PerspectiveSwitch the camera to a perspective view to display depth and distance.
AlignAlign the camera to a predefined viewpoint.

Viewer settings

Explore the properties in the Viewer settings in the lower-right corner of the viewer window, for camera movement and clipping.

Camera easingEnable smooth camera movement when starting or stopping.
Camera accelerationEnable gradual increases in camera movement speed.
Camera speedSet the base movement speed of the camera.
Max speedSet the maximum movement speed the camera can reach.
Custom clippingEnable custom near and far clipping values.
Near clipSet the minimum distance from the camera at which objects are visible.
Far clipSet the maximum distance from the camera at which objects are visible.
