Assign seats to organization members

How to assign seats from your subscription to organization members

Last updated 2 months ago

A subscription defines the software license level that is available to an organization. A seat represents an individual license to use Unity products.
When you purchase a subscription to a plan for your organization, you select the number of seats to purchase. Then, you assign seats to organization members. If a project contributor has a lower tier subscription, you must assign them a seat from your organization's license.

Assign seats

To assign seats, you must have the Owner or Manager user type in the organization.
To assign seats to organization members, follow these steps:
  1. In Unity ID, go to Organizations, select an organization, and then go to Subscriptions & Services.
  2. Select Manage seats next to the subscription whose seats you want to assign.
  3. Select members of the organization, and then select Assign Seat(s).
Each assignee receives an email with information on how to activate Unity. A seat gives the user access to Unity Editor features that are available to the organization. When you assign a paid seat, the member receives a license to activate the Unity Editor.
You can purchase additional seats for your subscription at any time from the Unity store.
