Unity Lite uses the Asset Manager to make the asset import process seamless. The Asset Manager is a cloud-based digital asset management solution from the Unity Ecosystem. This information gives an overview of the features and benefits of using the Asset Manager with Unity Lite.

Import your assets into Unity Lite

You can import any supported asset you upload to your organization’s Asset Manager directly into your Unity Lite projects. Similarly, you can upload new files from your desktop to the Asset Manager via Unity Lite. For instructions, refer to Import assets into your project.

Host your assets on the cloud

The Asset Manager stores all assets you upload through Unity Lite in the cloud. This means your files are safe, accessible from anywhere, and easier to share within your organization.

Optimized industry files

The Asset Manager uses the Unity Asset Transformer to optimize complex industry files, such as CAD assets. This lets you visualize and interact with these files right in your web browser, no extra software required.

Drafts and projects in the cloud

Your Unity Lite drafts and projects are also hosted on the Asset Manager. Anyone in your organization can access and edit these drafts, which can help make teamwork more seamless.

Version control

The Asset Manager tracks different versions of your drafts. You can view version history, and if needed, delete the latest version to revert to a previous frozen state.

Privacy and access

Control who can access your drafts and assets by choosing to create them in either your personal or organization space.
  • Organization space: Anything you create in your organization’s space is accessible and editable by all team members in that organization.
  • Personal space: If you want your drafts or assets to remain private or editable only by you, create them in your personal organization.
