Logging

Note: The content on this page pertains to Game Server Hosting (Multiplay) available on the Unity Dashboard. If you’re using Game Server Hosting (Clanforge), see the Game Server Hosting (Clanforge) documentation.

Game Server Hosting surfaces logs from your build executable through the Unity Dashboard. You can access logs for servers from Game Server Hosting > Servers > Logs.

Refer to the following sections to learn how to view and manage logs.

Note: Before Game Server Hosting can surface your logs through the Unity Dashboard, you must:

  • Implement a query protocol.
  • Specify the location of your logs through your build configuration.

If your log files aren't displayed in the Unity Dashboard, refer troubleshooting logs.

To view logs for a specific server, go to Multiplayer > Game Server Hosting > Servers > Logs. From there, you can filter logs by date, search for logs by name, download logs, and view logs.

Filter logs by date

To filter server logs by date, select the date to filter by. For example, you can choose to view only logs from the last 7 days, the last hour, or from between two specific dates.

To view logs from between two specific dates:

  1. Select Custom.
  2. Set the Start date and Start time.
  3. Set the End date and End time.
  4. Make sure the Timezone is correct.

  1. Select Apply.

To search for logs, begin typing the log name in the search bar. The results update automatically as you type.

Download a single log

To download a single log file, select the download option next to the log file name.

Download multiple logs

To download multiple log files, select the log files you want to download, then select Download logs.

View a log file

To view a log file, select the log file name. This shows you the log file contents, the size, and the time and date it was last updated.
