Active build configuration

Understand how active build configurations determine which executable your servers run.

Allocations drive Multiplay Hosting fleets by propagating configuration changes to servers as they’re necessary to fulfill player demand. One such configuration is the active build configuration. A matchmaker controls servers' active build configuration in a typical production environment by requesting servers to meet player needs. But it’s also possible to manually allocate a server with a build configuration. The simplest ways to change the active build configuration of a server are to:
  1. Use the Allocations API to allocate the server with the build configuration you want to run.
  2. Create a test allocation with the build configuration.
