Add users to a Unity VCS organization

To add users to a Unity VCS organization:

  1. Sign in to the Unity dashboard.
  2. Go to DevOps > Organizations.
  3. Select the organization to which you want to add a user.
  4. Select the Users tab.
  5. Select Invite users.
    1. Enter the email address of the user(s) you want to invite.
    2. If the user should have admin permissions, check the Grant admin permissions box.
  6. Select Send invite.

Add users to a user group

To add users to a user group:

  1. Sign in to the Unity dashboard.
  2. Go to DevOps > Organizations.
  3. Select an organization where the user group exists.
  4. Select the User groups tab.
  5. Select the user group to which to add the user.
  6. Select Add users.
    1. Enter the email address of the user(s).
  7. Select Add users.

View and edit user permissions

As an administrator, you can set file-level permissions, user-level permissions, and repository-level permissions.

To view user permissions:

  1. Sign in to the Unity dashboard.
  2. Go to DevOps > Organizations.
  3. Select the organization you want.
  4. Select the Users tab.
  5. Select the arrow icon next to the name of the user you want to view permissions for.

To edit user permissions:

  1. Select Edit user.
  2. Check or uncheck the permissions you want for the user.
  3. Select Save changes.

You can also edit repository permissions on the Repository permissions tab.

Remove users from a Unity VCS organization

As an administrator, you can remove users from organizations and user groups.

To remove a user from a Unity VCS organization:

  1. Sign in to the Unity dashboard.
  2. Go to DevOps > Organizations.
  3. Select the organization in which you want to remove a user.
  4. Select the Users tab.
  5. Search for the user you’d like to remove from the organization.
  6. Select Remove user.

To remove multiple users, select the users and click Remove users.

Remove users from a user group

To remove a user from a user group:

  1. Sign in to the Unity dashboard.
  2. Go to DevOps > Organizations.
  3. Select the organization in which you want to remove a user.
  4. Select the user groups tab.
  5. Select the user group in which you’d like to remove a user.
  6. Search for the user you’d like to remove.
  7. Select Remove user.

To remove multiple users, select the users and click Remove users.

Create user groups

As an administrator, you can use user groups to create and manage the records of a collection of users to whom you want to permit access to common functionalities, like access rights, roles, or permissions.

To create a user group:

  1. Sign in to the Unity dashboard.
  2. Go to DevOps > Organizations.
  3. Select the organization to which you want to add a user group.
  4. Select the User groups tab.
  5. Select New user group.
    1. In the dialog, set the group name and description.
    2. Set the permissions for the group.
  6. Select Create group.
