Locked game servers

Note: The content on this page pertains to Managed Game Server Hosting (Clanforge). If you’re using Game Server Hosting (Multiplay), refer to the Game Server Hosting (Multiplay) documentation.

Locking is a mechanism that prevents systems from using game servers in production while they're undergoing maintenance or while they're in a state that's unsuitable for a game session. When a game server is locked, you can't perform any server actions on it, and you can't use it for a game session.

Game Server Hosting locks game servers for maintenance purposes. Maintenance events that might trigger a game server lock include machine troubleshooting, migrations, and updates.

You can't manually unlock a game server. To unlock a game server, you must either wait for the reason the server was locked to end (for example, if Game Server Hosting locked the game server for maintenance, you must wait for the maintenance to complete), or you can contact the customer success team. If a game server remains locked for over 24 hours, contact the customer success team.
