Delayed scaling

Note: The content on this page pertains to Managed Game Server Hosting (Clanforge). If you’re using Game Server Hosting (Multiplay), refer to the Game Server Hosting (Multiplay) documentation.

Scaling up can sometimes take longer than expected. The following list details of some common reasons why there might be a delay.

  • The game image is exceedingly large. You can prevent game images from becoming too large by regularly rolling up your game images (that's, releasing a full image update).
  • There have been many partial image versions since the last full image. Refer to rolling up game images.
  • There are too many unnecessary game images specified for the fleet. In this case, it might make sense to split the fleet up into multiple fleets based on environment or platform.
  • There’s transit network congestion slowing down the provisioning of new machines.
  • The scaling buffer values aren’t high enough to accommodate the pace at which players are joining new game sessions.
