Server capacity

Game server capacity or server capacity refers to the number of game servers in a fleet or fleet region. It's distinct from machine capacity in that; it refers to the game server processes running on machines, rather than the actual machines. For example, if you have a fleet of three machines, and each machine is running 10 game servers, you have a server capacity of 30.

There are a couple of ways to think about server capacity. For example, you can think of the server capacity from the perspective of an entire fleet, a specific region, or a single machine. The server capacity of a specific region is the regional server capacity while the server capacity of a single machine is the machine capacity.

Game Server Hosting watches the server capacity to determine when the reactive scaling system needs to add additional game servers by adding additional machines.
