Placement options during loading

In AR mode, loading the model refers to loading the model into the app's memory. Placing the model opens the model in a position relative to the site or the viewer.

If you are using an AR marker, reference points, or a saved anchor lock, you can place the model during loading.

You can perform manual placement after the model loads.

Alignment options during initial placement

The first time you load a model, the options for placement are based on whether the model contains AR markers, reference points, or neither:

  • AR markers in the model: You are prompted to scan for the printed marker on the site.
  • Reference points and no AR markers: You are prompted to match the points in the model to the corresponding points in the site.
  • No AR markers or reference points: You can manually place the model.

During placement, you can skip the initial method(s) of placement offered to you.

If the model contains AR markers and reference points, AR marker scan or marker placement will be offered first, then two-point placement (reference points), and then manual placement. Manual placement is always available.

Alignment options during subsequent loading and placement

If you have saved any anchor locks in the model, when you reload the model, you will be prompted to search for an anchor lock to use for placement. If you skip the prompt, the other placement options saved in the model, and manual placement, are offered.

Placement reset

You can also redo the placement of the model without reloading. See Reset Model Placement.
