Introduction to Unity Game Overrides
You can set up Game Overrides using Analytics data so other Unity services can target an Audience with personalized in-game behavior. The Audience feature compares a player’s profile against set criteria to see if they fit into the defined Audience. For example, Audiences can be defined by the frequency of gameplay in the last X days, or their lifetime spend, for example. There are reporting capabilities on Game Overrides to see the effect on game KPIs.
You might want to send some Halloween-themed content in the run-up to October 31st, but want to omit Mexico with respect to their honoring of friends and family who have passed during that time. You can use Game Overrides to tailor content to specific audiences.
Use user behavior for advanced targeting, for example, players who go dormant for the first time will receive a push that offers a reward.
Game Overrides give Unity developers the ability to create personalized in-game player experiences and understand their impact. Initially, the only Override Unity offers is Remote Config, but more are planned. With Game Overrides, you can:
- Schedule when and how long the Game Override will run.
- Target specific player Audiences that can enter the Override.
- Define custom content to be delivered to those Audiences during the Override.
- Understand the impact of Game Overrides through engagement and reporting data.
