Lock the model's position

Anchor locks save the model's position, rotation, and scale in relation to the site. You can use anchor locks in multiple locations in the model to correct model drift.

Important: Anchor locks should not be within 10 feet of each other or within 10 feet of AR markers. If they are closer, they compete for priority and may cause the model to move erratically.

Anchors created during an online (connected to Wi-Fi) session are not available to future offline sessions and vice versa:

  • Anchor locks saved in an online session can be used in future online sessions.
  • Anchor locks saved in an offline session can be used in future offline sessions.

Use anchor locks to save manual alignment locations that you plan on using in the future

After you complete an alignment, place the anchor lock on a surface in the vicinity of the alignment. When you move to within 10 feet of the anchor lock, the anchor lock is activated and the model snaps into alignment.

Create a new anchor lock to:

  • Align the model with the site during loading.
  • Save an alignment that corrects model drift. You do not need to set anchor locks to align the model from every point of view. Align only the areas that you need to focus on.

Reuse anchor locks

If you realign the model near existing anchor locks, instead of being prompted to create a new anchor lock, you are prompted to save the alignment to the closest anchor.

To place and lock an anchor:

  1. Display the anchor pop-up image for creating the anchor:

    • Airtap Lock Position in the Model Tools window, in any of the Model Tune tabs, or in the Alignment window.

    or

    • Manually adjust the model's position or scale using the Model Tune tabs or the Alignment window. Then, return to the Model Tools window and airtap Done.

The anchor and the scan mesh appears.

  1. Move the anchor to a location on the scan mesh near the location of your model adjustment.

    Important:

    • To use the anchor later in your project, you must be able to physically locate yourself within 10 feet of the anchor.
    • An anchor must be at least 10 feet from any other anchor or any AR marker.
  2. Airtap the anchor to place it.

  3. Airtap Yes to confirm the placement.

The anchor saves, and if you're online, uploads to the cloud.

  4. In online mode, a white cloud appears beside the lock after it uploads. In offline mode, an orange cloud with a strike through it appears beside a saved anchor.
