Different types of multiplayer games have different requirements and challenges that require the use of different Unity multiplayer services and packages. Use the Multiplayer Center to automatically install the necessary packages in your project, or read the following sections to learn about the different requirements and challenges of each game type.
Casual co-opCasual co-op games center friendly teamwork and communication. Common game types are collaborative puzzle games, group exploration, and co-op platformers.
CompetitiveIn fast-paced competitive games, multiplayer gameplay involves constantly exchanging player actions and game state information in real time. Common games types are first-person shooters, fighting games, and battle royales.
Turn-basedIn turn-based games, players don't share all information in real time and take turns to influence the game state. Common game types are strategy games, board games, auto-battlers, and card games.
