For optimal security, change your password and set up two-factor authentication.
Change your password

- In the Unity Dashboard, select your profile picture, and then select Account.
- Go to Security.
- On the Account security tab, select the edit button next to Password.
- Select Reset password.
- Follow the instructions in the email that you receive.
Two-factor authentication
Add an extra layer of security for authentication and access with Unity's two-factor authentication (2FA).
With Unity's 2FA, you must provide the following forms of identification when you sign in:
- Your account password
- A single-use code that an authenticator app generates, or that you receive in a text message (SMS) if your account still uses that method.
If your organization enforces single sign-on (SSO) authentication for your account, and your organization's identity provider manages 2FA, you can't set up 2FA in the Unity Dashboard. However, if you sign in with a password, for example, because your organization enables SSO without enforcing it, set up 2FA in the Unity Dashboard to protect your account.
Set up two-factor authentication
To turn on Unity's 2FA with an authenticator app, follow these steps:
-
In the Unity Dashboard, select your profile, and then select Account.
-
Go to Security.
-
On the Account security tab, in the Two-factor authentication section, select Set up next to Authenticator app.
-
If prompted, enter your password, and then select Continue.
-

-
In Enter the code from your app, enter the code that your authenticator app displays, and then select Verify.
-
Download or copy your recovery codes, and store them in a safe place.Use these codes to access your account if you lose access to your authenticator app.
-
Select I’ve saved my recovery codes somewhere safe, and then select Done.
After you turn on 2FA, your security settings display the Active status next to Authenticator app.

- In the Unity Dashboard, select your profile, and then select Account.
- Go to Security.
- On the Account security tab, select the generate button (circular arrows) next to Authenticator app.
- Select Generate new codes.
- If prompted, sign in again and enter a code from your 2FA method.
- Download or copy your new recovery codes, and store them in a safe place.

- In the Unity Dashboard, select your profile, and then select Account.
- Go to Security.
- On the Account security tab, select remove (trash can) next to the 2FA method that you want to disable.
