Manage the types of Developer Data that Unity collects on your behalf. These settings apply to any Unity products or services you use in your project that require Developer Data.
Unity only collects data as instructed per your chosen settings. Data collection begins when your app runs on a supported device.
Define how Unity uses your Developer Data in Usage Settings.
Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Essential Data | Collect the minimum data that Unity requires to deliver the products and services you use. This includes: - Crash logs - Telemetry - Configuration metadata The data that Unity collects depends on the services you use in your project. Essential Data is collected by default if diagnostic data collection is enabled in the Unity Editor. This is the default behavior for new Unity projects using version 6.2 and later. If you’re upgrading from an older version of Unity, diagnostic data collection isn't enabled by default. To enable or disable diagnostic data collection, refer to Configure diagnostic data collection in the Editor. |
| Additional Recommended Data | Collect additional data outside of what is essential for the products and services that you use. For example, this setting might allow Unity to collect data that's essential for Analytics, even if you don't use Analytics directly. You can then define how Unity uses this data in your Usage Settings. |
