The Measure tool
VisualLive for HoloLens lets you measure your surroundings and the distances to model elements. You can change the unit of measurement as well as the measurement mode from length to area.
Start and stop measuring
Select .Start Measuring
Airtap where you want to start your measurement.
Select your second point to complete the measurement.
Select ‘**Stop Measuring. **You can now airtap other buttons.
Change units
Unit lets you to switch between feet and inches, decimal feet, or meters. If you already have distances measured out, changing the units updates them in real time.
Snap to surroundings
The Snap feature aligns your measuring tool to sharp edges or corners in your model or in the environment. Select Snap to turn snapping on or off.
Note: If you are trying to snap to the physical environment rather than a model, this tool will attempt to snap to the vertices of the scan mesh, which may not be exactly accurate.
Create a perpendicular measurement
Perpendicular creates another measure line perpendicular to the surface that is already selected or to the surface that the cursor is currently hovering over.
Remove measurements
To remove all currently visible measurements on your HoloLens, select Remove All.
