Attention: VisualLive is not available for purchase on visuallive.com after May 1, 2023, and can only be purchased through a Unity client partner until June 30, 2023. Maintenance support as outlined in the terms of service ends either May 1, 2024 or one year after purchase; with no new features added and only minor bug fixes supported.

App modes

VisualLive for Mobile starts in Navigate mode. To visualize the model in a real-world environment, you must switch to AR mode.

A number of features are available in both modes. These features allow you to temporarily hide and change the position or size of objects, and measure distances. Depending on your subscription, you may also have access to issue and status-tracking features.

In Navigate mode you can:

  • Move around, inside, and above your model. Navigate mode has (joystick) controls to move the camera or an avatar.
  • Quickly orient yourself in the model with a minimap that provides a bird's eye view.
  • Use the minimap to teleport to any location in the model.
  • Move the avatar to specific locations in the model to help position the model in AR mode.

Note: Overlaying the model on the camera's view of the environment, and aligning the model with the environment (for example, the real-world job site), is not possible in Navigate mode.

AR mode

In AR mode, you can:

  • Use your mobile device’s camera to scan your real-world environment.
  • Load and place the model on the camera's current view of the environment. Placement methods allow you to align the model with the real-world environment. (For some placement methods, preparation of the model in the VisualLiveplug in for Revit or Navisworks is required.)
  • Fine-tune and save alignment for future sessions.
