Unity Studio supports the Asset Manager annotations feature.

Annotations in Unity Studio

You can add annotations in your Unity Studio draft, which lets you leave comments, feedback, ask questions, and communicate with your team directly within the scene.
You can:
  • Filter for comments based on their text content, date, or resolution status.
  • Place comments directly in the 3D scene.
  • Respond to existing comments.
  • React to comments with emojis.
  • Add sketches, files and spatial markers to your comments to provide more context and information.
  • Receive or stop notifications about new comments in the thread.
  • Mark comments as resolved or unresolved.
  • Tag teammates in comments to direct their attention to specific feedback or questions.

Sketches and files

When you create a comment, you can add sketches or files to provide more context and information. This is useful if you want to provide feedback on a specific part of the scene, for example:
  • Circle a specific area or draw arrows in the scene with a sketch to indicate where the feedback applies.
  • Draw a rough sketch of a proposed change to visually communicate your ideas.
  • Add a file attachment to provide more detailed information, such as a document with written feedback.
These features allow you to provide details you can't communicate with just text, and ensure that your feedback is clear and actionable for your team.

Live updates

You don't need to refresh the page to get access to new comments from your teammates. Unity Studio syncs comments every few seconds so they become visible without a refresh.

Comment notifications

When someone tags you in a comment, you receive a notification in the Asset Manager. Select Notifications (the bell icon) in the Asset Manager to view your notifications.
A blue dot icon displays on unread notifications.

Annotation limitations

The annotations feature in Unity Studio has the following limitations:
  • You can't add annotations to a UI canvas.
  • You can't add annotations while the Animation timeline is open.
