Important
The New Unity Dashboard currently supports mediated users only.
Create a placement from the Placements page of the Unity Ads Monetization dashboard.
  1. Go to Monetization > Placements from the navigation menu, then click Create placement.
  2. Select the app you want to add a new placement for, then click Continue.
  3. Enter a name for your placement.
    Note
The dashboard generates a Placement ID based on your original placement name. The Placement ID can’t be changed, so choose the initial name carefully.
  4. Determine if the app you selected is child-directed, either fully or partially through a mixed audience, or not at all.
    Note
You’ll only need to determine an app’s child-directed status one time per app. Future placements that you create for this app will skip this step and allow you to select the ad format and set a placement name directly.
  5. Select one or more ad format types you want to create for this placement, then click Next.
    Note
A separate placement will be created for each ad format type you select.
  6. Copy any required network or network placement IDs to complete app integration, then click Done.
If you’re using Unity LevelPlay or another mediation partner, you’ll need to locate the bidding placement you created and copy the associated placement ID. This Unity bidding placement ID is required to map to your partner’s equivalent bidding placement in their dashboard.

Manage placements

Keep track of all or specific placements for an app on the Placements page by using the following filters:
  • The Status filter to review archived and active placements
  • The Platform filter to review placements created specifically for Android or iOS
  • The Ad format filter to review placements created for specific ad format types like banner, interstitial, or rewarded
You can manage your placements after creation with the following limitations:
  • A placement's platform (iOS or Android) can't be changed after creation. To create an equivalent placement for a different platform, create a new placement.
  • A placement's name can't be changed after creation, so choose it carefully.
  • Archived placements can be unarchived at any time. Doing so will resume future impressions to be served.
  • Placements can be deleted if they've been archived for over six months, or for over a week with no ad requests.
