Audit configuration

Set up the audit level and the audit log file name.

Set up the Unity Version Control (UVCS) audit level and the audit log file name in the server administration console.

Audit log levels

By default, the audit log is active and set to log level one in the 
audit.log
file. You can find the audit log file in the UVCS server installation directory.
There are file audit levels:

Audit Level

Description

0. Do not log anything on the audit logDoesn't log any operation.
1. Log deleted objectsOnly logs the operations related to deleting objects.
2. Log access denied to objectsLogs operations if a user is denied access to objects and tries to access them.
3. Log Added/Edited/Renamed objectsLogs any action related to the operations

over a Plastic object.
4. Log read access to revisionsLogs any access to any revision. For example, when a user switches to a changeset or a branch, or diffs two revisions.
Note
Each audit level includes any previous levels.

Audit log files

An audit log file includes a line for any logged operation with the following structure:
<HASH> <user> (<machine>) <timestamp> [<repository>]: <operation>

Parameter

Description

HASH
The unique identifier of the logged operation.
user
The user/developer who performed the operation.
machine
The machine from which the operation is performed.
timestamp
The time the operation was performed.
repository
The repository that was affected by the operation.
operation
The description of the performed operation.
