Move Unity Licensing Server storage to EBS

For version 1.4 and newer.
The Unity Licensing Server data volume (
licserver-data
) doesn't provision to EFS anymore. It now provisions on EBS block storage:
kubernetes_ebs_storage_class_name
, which defaults to
gp3
.
Because StatefulSet volume claims are immutable, you must move the volume manually:
  1. If a GitOps tool such as ArgoCD manages the deployment, pause its reconciliation of the
    license-server
    application.
  2. Delete the
    unity-licensing-server
    StatefulSet and its
    licserver-data-unity-licensing-server-0
    volume claim.
  3. Deploy this release.
  4. For licensing data, do one of the following:
    • Request and import a new license bundle. No data backup is required. For more information, refer to Licensing.
    • To keep your existing license data instead of re-importing it, use
      common/scripts/migrate-licserver-storage.sh
. The script backs up the volume before the swap (
      backup
) and restores it into the new one afterward (
      restore
). The script header documents its usage.
