Install Self-Hosted Deployment for the first time

You deploy Self-Hosted Deployment on your own Kubernetes cluster with the shdctl command-line tool.

Unlike the AWS Terraform and Azure Marketplace packages, Self-Hosted Deployment uses shdctl to manage the entire release lifecycle, from pulling releases and syncing container images to generating secrets and deploying Helm charts or ArgoCD applications.

Important

Unity doesn't install Self-Hosted Deployment for you. Your IT organization or solutions integrator performs the installation steps in the pages listed below and operates the deployment after rollout. For the full delivery model, refer to the Self-Hosted Deployment overview.

1. Prerequisites

Ensure that you have the required configuration, tooling, and permissions.

2. Deployment

Pull, configure, and deploy the solution using shdctl.

3. Postdeployment

Perform the initial configuration of the identity subsystem.
