Non-production environments are draft-only workspaces, so they can't publish on their own. The Apply to production action copies a non-production environment's draft theme and branding into the production environment's draft, where you can publish it to make the changes live.
This pattern lets you experiment with theme and branding in a sandbox environment, then promote the result to production without redoing the work.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you meet the following prerequisites:
  • A non-production environment with draft theme or branding changes that you want to promote.
  • Access to the production environment of the same webshop.

Apply the draft to production

To copy the non-production draft into production, follow these steps:
  1. Go to the Unity Dashboard.
  2. Open Monetization > Webshop.
    Note
If you use the legacy Unity Dashboard, go to In-App Purchases > Go to Webshop.
  3. Select your webshop's menu (...), and then select Edit.
  4. In the environment selector, select the non-production environment whose draft you want to promote.
  5. In the Customize theme section, select Apply to production.
  6. Confirm the action.
Unity copies the non-production draft theme and branding into the production draft. The change isn't live yet. To make it live, switch the environment selector back to production and follow Publish a webshop.
