Enabling Unity Ads in your project

When you have created a new project and want to monetize, you’ll need to enable Unity Ads for that project in the dashboard. To do so from the Unity Ads Monetization dashboard, select Get started on the secondary navigation menu.

The Get Started modal displays.

Copying settings

To save time, you can duplicate settings from another project by selecting Yes, I want to copy ad settings from an existing project.

This initializes your project with the same Monetization settings as an existing project you specify, including Ad Units and Placements.

Important: Privacy and app store compliance settings are not initialized when duplicating settings. You must manually edit them after initializing the project.

If you do not want to copy settings from an existing project, select No, I want to start fresh.

Mediation partner

When you initialize Unity Ads for your project, you must select a mediation provider. Mediation means you use a service to mediate multiple ad networks bidding on your ad space.

Note: If you do not use a mediation service, select I’m not using Mediation, only Unity Ads. This option indicates that you will only monetize through Unity’s ad network inventory.

If you use Unity Ads in a third-party mediation stack, select Third Party Mediation. If you select this option, you must specify a third-party provider from the list of integrated platforms.

Unity Ads also supports custom mediation solutions implemented by the developer. If you’ve built your own mediation adapter, select Self Mediated from the list.

Store IDs

If you publish your project to a live app store, the recommended best practice is to enter its store IDs when you initialize Ads in the dashboard. This maximizes your exposure to ad inventory and potential additional revenue. For more information, refer to Store IDs.
