Mediation Reporting

Mediation Reporting provides project-level information and insights into how much you are earning from your waterfall mediation strategies and the factors that affect those earnings.

Note: For information on organization-level reporting, refer to Unity Mediation Report.

Use the Mediation Revenue Report to track and analyze your monetization performance, which can help you to understand your waterfall configuration and manage your strategies accordingly. Use report observations to drive decision-making so you can maximize your earnings.

To access this report, go to the Unity Ads Monetization dashboard, and then select Current Project > Mediation Reporting.

Note: On April 4, 2022, the Mediation Reporting dashboard was updated to report Meta Audience Network data and AdMob data according to the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) timezone instead of the Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) timezone. This change ensures that all Mediation Reporting is aligned to use the UTC timezone. Any Meta Audience Network and AdMob reporting that is performed after this update will reference a time period that is eight hours offset (the difference between UTC and PDT) from previously generated reports. To open your Mediation Report, go to the Monetization dashboard, select a project, and then select Mediation Reporting.

Mediation Reporting provides a default report on the performance of the waterfalls in your app for the iOS and Android platforms over the previous 7 days.

You can also focus on specific information and trends by selecting one or more data filters to apply to your report.

Combine different filters to define and isolate the data that you want to review.

  • Date - Select predefined dates (for example, Last 3 days, Last 7 days, Last 14 days, or Last 31 days) or choose a custom date range. The default selection is Last 7 days.
  • Platform - Select Android, iOS, or both platforms.
  • Ad formats - Select one, multiple, or all ad formats applicable to your app.
  • Countries - Select one, multiple, or all countries applicable to your app.
  • Waterfalls - Select one, multiple, or all waterfalls applicable to your app.
  • Ad Sources - Select one, multiple, or all Ad Sources applicable to your app.

Note: If you filter by Ad Source, the requests and fill rate refer to the number of times the Ad Source was sent an ad request or filled an ad request, respectively.

Analyze your reports

Analyzing both the graph and table on the report page can help to guide the actions that you need to take to adjust your waterfalls to improve the performance of your line items.

The graph provides a comparison of your waterfalls between the current week (indicated by the blue trendline) and the previous week (indicated by the gray trendline), and a visualization of the following performance metrics:

  • Revenue - The total collected revenue to date.
  • Impressions - The number of times an ad was displayed in your app.
  • eCPM - The average revenue gain per 1,000 impressions.
  • Fill rate - How often the waterfall is able to fulfill an ad request.

Select a tab to review details on a specific metric and examine trend lines. Hover your cursor over a trendline to review a metric for a specific time. Each tab also indicates an average increase or decrease over the selected time period.

By default, the graph displays the performance for the time period you select and the same time period for the previous week to provide a week-by-week visual analysis.

The table provides a breakdown of your waterfalls by date, platform, country, waterfalls, A/B test, Ad Source, ad units, and line items, which you can further sort to view the following data:

  • Ads Revenue - The total collected revenue to date.
  • Requests - The total number of times your project makes an ad request to ad networks.
  • Impressions - The number of times an ad was displayed in your app.
  • eCPM - The average revenue gain per 1,000 impressions.
  • Fill Rate - How often the waterfall is able to fulfill an ad request.

Note: You need to select a single waterfall to review line items and A/B test results.

Select Export Report at the top of the Mediation Reporting page to export this data into a CSV file.

The information displayed in these categories depends on your selected filters. For example, if you select Platform: Android and Ad Source: AdColony for your filters, the table only displays data for Android devices that are being served ads by AdColony.

If no filters are selected, then Revenue, Requests, Impressions, eCPM, and Fill rate information is shown over the previous 7 days, for both iOS and Android apps, in all the countries targeted by all of your waterfalls, and for all the Ad Sources used in all your waterfalls, including a distinction between bidding and traditional Ad Sources. An Ad Source with a blue icon indicates that it is a bidding source.
