Configure Liftoff Monetize for Unity Mediation

Publishers can use Unity Mediation to load and display ads from Liftoff Monetize (Powered by Vungle) through waterfall and bidding mediation.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, create a Liftoff account: https://app.vungle.com/signup/.

If your game is made with Unity, install the Vungle Adapter to your project:

  1. Open your project in the Unity Editor.

  2. Select Edit > Project Settings > Services > Mediation or Services > Mediation > Configure.

  3. In the Adapter Configuration section, find the Vungle Adapter and select Install.

    Note: Installing the Vungle Adapter through the Unity Editor also pulls in the Vungle SDK.

Add an app to your Liftoff Monetize account

To add an app to your Liftoff account, complete the following steps.

  1. Sign in to your account: https://app.vungle.com/login/.

  2. Next to your username, select Add Application.

  3. Complete the fields with information about your app, and then select Continue.

  4. On the Placements page, select a placement type and complete the customization section, then select Continue.

    If you select App Bidding in the Monetization Type dropdown menu for your placement, you must also complete the steps detailed in Add Liftoff as a bidding source.

  5. From the Placement Integration section, copy your Placement ID for future reference (alternatively, you can find your Placement ID at any time from the left navigation menu on Placements tab). Then select Sounds Good.

Retrieve your Liftoff credentials

To connect the Unity Mediation platform with the Liftoff ad network, you need to retrieve the Reporting API Key from your Liftoff account.

Use the Reporting API Key to import performance data from your Liftoff account for reporting and optimization purposes in the Unity Dashboard.

To find the Reporting API Key, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to your Liftoff account profile.

  2. Select your username to expand the dropdown menu, and then select My Account.

    Result: The Reporting API Key is available in the Overview section.

Configure the Liftoff Ad Source in the Unity Dashboard

To configure Liftoff as a third-party Ad Source in Unity Mediation, complete the following steps.

  1. On the , in the left menu, select Mediation > Ad Sources.

  2. Find Liftoff in the list of Ad Sources and select Set up.

  3. Complete the fields with the credentials from your Liftoff account:

    • In the API Key field, enter the Liftoff Reporting API Key.
    • Enable the Reporting Access Authorization checkbox.
  4. Select Complete.

Create a Liftoff line item

Prerequisites: Create a waterfall, Configure the Liftoff Ad Source, and Install the Vungle Adapter and SDK

To create a Liftoff line item, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Unity Monetization Dashboard , select the Waterfalls page, and then select the waterfall that you want to add a line item to

    .

  2. In the Sort by eCPM Target or Auto - eCPM (Backfill) section, select Add Line Item.

  3. Select Liftoff, and then select Next.

  4. Map line items to the Ad Source.

    1. Enter the App ID.

    2. Enter a line item name.

      Note: For more information on naming convention best practices, see Ensure standardized line syntax.

    3. Enter the Placement ID.

    4. Set an eCPM target that reflects the estimated price expected from the Ad Source.

      Note: The eCPM target is only for defining the order in which ad networks are called, and has no role in the acceptance or rejection of an ad due to a price point.

  5. Select Save.

Add Liftoff as a bidding source

Prerequisites: Create a waterfall, [Create an Ad Unit](https://docs.unity.com/monetization-dashboard/AdUnits.html#CreatingAdUnits), Configure the Liftoff Ad Source, and Install the Vungle Adapter and SDK

To add Liftoff as a bidding source for the Unity Mediation platform, complete the following steps.

  1. On the , select the Waterfalls page, and then select the waterfall that you want to add a line item to.

  2. In the Bidding section, select Add Bidding Source.

  3. Select Liftoff, and then select Save.

  4. Map line items to the Ad Source.

    1. Enter the App ID.
    2. Enter the Placement ID.
  5. Select Save.
