## Configure reports

To start analyzing your campaign performance, use the Performance dashboard to configure custom reports. Refer to the following sections to set up a report.

1. **Report parameters**

   ### Set report parameters

The report parameters determine what your report looks like, how much data to include, the cadence of data, and whether you want to compare two different time periods. When you create a new report, follow these steps to set these parameters:

   1. Choose a chart type from the following options:

   | Chart type | Description | Use case |
   | ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
   | Line | Shows how your data changes over time with a continuous line connecting each data point | Line graphs can help you identify trends and patterns in your campaign performance. Consider this chart type when you want to analyze how your metrics change over time. |
   | Table | Displays your data in rows and columns with exact numbers | Tables allow you to review precise values and compare specific numbers side-by-side. Consider this chart type when you want to export data or examine detailed breakdowns of campaign data. |
   | Stacked line | Shows comparison periods stacked on top of each so you can see both individual parts and the combined total | Stacked line graphs help you compare two time periods. Consider this chart type when you want to compare time periods to identify the cause of performance differences. |
   | Bar | Uses vertical bars to compare campaign metrics | Bar graphs provide quick metric comparisons at a specific point in time. Consider this chart type when you want to review quick comparisons of campaign metrics like Impressions or Installs on specific dates. |
   | Overview | Shows each campaign metric in its own tab with a line graph as well as an overview table | The overview offers a health check of all your metrics without switching between views. Consider this chart type when an overview of your campaign performance. |

   2. Select the report period. You can choose from presets like **Last 7 days** and **D7 Cohort** or select the dates manually on the calendar.
   3. Choose a data cadence between Hourly and Monthly.
   4. Optionally, if you want to compare two different report periods, choose the period from the **Comparison** dropdown

2. **KPIs**

   ### Choose key performance indicators

Your report metrics are the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) you want to analyze in your report. Depending on your chart type, your chosen metrics determine how many charts or tabs display in the report.

There are default metrics that apply to all campaign goals, such as Impressions, Installs, and Spend. There are also metrics for each of the optimized campaign goals, like Total ROAS and Retention Rate. When you select any of the optimized campaign goal metrics, you also choose the optimization window for the report, for example D0 (day-zero) or D7 (day-seven).

   **The Metrics sidebar:**

For detailed metric descriptions, refer to the [Performance dashboard metrics reference](/user-acquisition/performance/dashboard/metrics-reference.md).

3. **Data points**

   ### Select report data points

The dimensions of your report are the additional data points you want to analyze with your KPIs. For example, you can add overall app data like the **Game ID** for each of your apps. When you want to compare creative packs, you can add more granular data like **Video length** or **Creative Pack ID**. Experiment with dimensions in different chart types to explore different data comparisons.

   > **Note:**
   >
   > When you use the **Creative Pack Name** or **Creative Pack ID** dimensions in table mode, you can review incremental engagement data for your ads with the [Creative insight](/user-acquisition/performance/dashboard/intro-to-creative-insights.md) tool.

For descriptions of all available dimensions, refer to the [Performance dashboard dimensions reference](/user-acquisition/performance/dashboard/dimensions-reference.md).

4. **Refine data**

   ### Refine data

Filters allow you to refine your data to focus your report on individual segments. For example, you can manually choose specific campaigns to review using the **Campaign ID** filter or bulk select every campaign of a particular goal type using the **Campaign goal** filter.

Refine what data you include in your dashboard report using filters. For descriptions of all available filters, refer to the [Performance dashboard filters reference](/user-acquisition/performance/dashboard/filters-reference.md).
