# Authentication

> Choose and configure the authentication mode that Unity Version Control On-Prem uses to identify users, including LDAP, Active Directory, user and password, and SAML.

Unity Version Control (UVCS) On-Prem supports several authentication modes, which use different sources for their list of users. Choose the mode that fits your environment, then configure it on your server.
