# DEACTIVATEUSER

> Deactivate users with the Unity Version Control CLI.

## Description

Deactivates a licensed user.

### Usage

```bash
cm deactivateuser | du <usr_name>[ ...] [--server=<name:port>] [--nosolveuser]
```

### Options

| Option / Argument | Description                                                                                                                                      |
| :---------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| --**server** | Deactivates the user on the specified server. If no server is specified, executes the command on the one configured on the client. |
| --**nosolveuser** | With this option, the command will not check whether the user name exists on the authentication system. The **\<usr\_name>** must be a user SID. |
| usr\_name | The user name(s) to deactivate. Use a whitespace to separate user names. If SID, then '--**nosolveuser**' is required. |

## Help

### Remarks

This command sets a user to inactive, disabling the usage of UVCS for that user.

See the '**cm** **activateuser**' command for more information about activating UVCS users.

This command checks whether the user exists on the underlying authentication system (e.g. ActiveDirectory, LDAP, User/Password...). To force the deactivation of a user that no longer exists on the authentication system, you can use the '--**nosolveuser**' option.

### Examples

```bash
cm deactivateuser john
```

```bash
cm du peter "mary collins"
```

```bash
cm deactivateuser john --server=myserver:8084
```

```bash
cm deactivateuser S-1-5-21-3631250224-3045023395-1892523819-1107 --nosolveuser
```
