# ATTRIBUTE RENAME

> Rename attributes with the Unity Version Control CLI.

## Description

Renames an attribute.

### Usage

```bash
cm attribute | att rename <att_spec> <new_name>
```

| Option / Argument | Description                                                                                      |
| :---------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| att\_spec         | Attribute to rename. (Use '**cm** **help** **objectspec**' to learn more about attribute specs.) |
| new\_name         | New name for the attribute.                                                                      |
