# Find a player

> Use Player Management to find the details of a specific player using their player ID or external ID, or filter players by their provider.

A player's details page is the starting point for the per-player tasks you complete in the Dashboard, such as investigating a support request, checking which identity providers an account links to, or deleting a player account in response to a privacy request. Player Management presents a list of players that you can filter, or you can search by specific player ID to find one player at a time.

Which identifier you use depends on how the player signs into your game. Every player has a player ID that Unity Authentication assigns when it creates the account. Players who sign in with a platform account, such as Steam or Google Play Games, also have an external ID that the identity provider assigns. An external ID is unique only within its own provider, so you must select a provider to search by external ID.

To find Player Management in the Dashboard, select **Development** > **Products**, and under **LiveOps**, select **Player Management**.

> **Note:**

> When you search for a player by their ID, the search only works for an exact match. Ensure the ID is exactly correct to get the correct details.

## Find a player by player ID

To find a player by their ID, follow these steps:

1. Paste the player's exact ID into the search field.
2. Select **Find player**.

If there's a matching player, the Dashboard automatically opens the details page for that player. If no match is found, the Dashboard displays **We couldn't find any players**.

You can also select a **Player ID** from the **Players** page to open their details.

Players you have recently viewed appear as shortcuts under the **Recently viewed** tab.

## Find a player by external ID with a provider

You can use the **Provider** button to list all players who sign in with the provider you selected. To find a specific player by their provider and external ID, follow these steps:

1. Select **Provider** to filter your search to a specific provider.
2. Paste the player's exact external ID into the search field.
3. Select **Find player**.

If there's a matching player, the Dashboard opens their details page. If no match is found, the Dashboard displays **We couldn't find any players**.
