# Add an app engagement

> Add an app engagement in the Tapjoy User Acquisition dashboard to generate an engagement ID for your Mobile Measurement Partner integration.

Create an app engagement in the Tapjoy User Acquisition (Promote) dashboard to generate an engagement ID. Use this ID to integrate with your Mobile Measurement Partner (MMP).

1. In the [User Acquisition dashboard](https://dashboard.tapjoy.com), go to the **Apps** menu and select your app.

2. Select **Add New Engagement**.

3. Enter **Engagement Name** exactly as the `event_name` defined in your in-app SDK to ensure a successful event mapping.

4. Select the one of the following **Engagement Type** options:

   * **In-App Engagement**: The engagement is an action that doesn’t require an in-app purchase (IAP), such as completing a level.
   * **In-App Purchase**: The engagement requires an IAP.

5. Select **Add**.

After you save the app engagement, the engagement ID is generated, and both the engagement and its ID are added to the app’s engagement list.
