# ironSource US State Privacy Laws

> US state privacy law compliance for LevelPlay using ironSource.

This article describes what ironSource offers partners to help them comply with existing and upcoming US state privacy laws. For legal advice, consult your legal counsel.

## ironSource Network

### Opt-out requests

* ironSource uses personal information about end users designated as "do not sell/share" only as a service provider and for permitted business purposes (for example, fraud prevention, frequency capping).
* External DSPs, SSPs, and other ad providers are disabled by default for these users, unless they can serve contextual ads without personal information.
* Personal information may still be sent to attribution companies (Appsflyer, Singular, Adjust) for payment, frequency capping, and fraud prevention.

SDK version 6.14.0+ exposes an API for publishers to communicate "do not sell/share" requests for end users in California, Virginia, Connecticut, Colorado, Utah, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and New Jersey (based on IP address). Publishers can apply these settings selectively or to all relevant users via the dashboard.

## LevelPlay and US state privacy laws

LevelPlay SDK introduced a client-side API to allow publishers to pass "do not sell/share" requests in California, Virginia, Connecticut, Colorado, or Utah to LevelPlay on behalf of users. ironSource shares these requests with relevant networks that support the API.
