# Consent support for Google UMP and CMPs compatible with Google’s Additional Consent

> Comply with GDPR. Present opt-in choices for personalized ads and manage user consent preferences in the EEA.

Some publishers use Google’s consent framework (such as Google UMP and Additional Consent) instead of or alongside TCF. This is a separate framework from TCF and might be used depending on your mediation setup.

If you’re using Google UMP, refer to Google’s [Manage GDPR ad partners documentation](https://support.google.com/admob/answer/10113004) to configure consent collection. Ensure consent signals are passed through your mediation layer.

Otherwise, refer to the documentation of your CMP for configuration support in implementing Google’s Additional Consent.

Other mediation platforms might read the Additional Consent string and pass consent signals to Unity Ads where supported.

> **Note:**
>
> Google’s Additional Consent is not part of the TCF framework.
>
> If you are using a TCF-compliant CMP, Unity will receive consent signals directly through the TCF string.

During the setup, do the following to ensure Unity Ads is included as a custom ad partner in AdMob:

1. Sign into your AdMob account.
2. Go to **Privacy & messaging**.
3. Select **Personalized ads** as the type of ads you want to show.
4. Go to the Review your ad partners section, then edit the **Commonly used ad partners**.
5. Select **Custom ad partners** in the ad partners page, then enable Unity Ads.
