# progress

> A floating point value representing the operation's current state of progress toward completion, where 1.0 represents completion. (Read Only)

## Definition

* **Type:** Property
* **Namespace:** [UnityEngine](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unityengine.md)
* **Assembly:** UnityEngine.CoreModule

```csharp
public float progress { get; }
```

### Remarks

The operation is finished when the `progress` value reaches 1.0, at which point [AsyncOperation.isDone](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unityengine/asyncoperation/isdone.md) becomes true and the [AsyncOperation.completed](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unityengine/asyncoperation/completed.md) event is raised. If you set [AsyncOperation.allowSceneActivation](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unityengine/asyncoperation/allowsceneactivation.md) to false, progress is halted at 0.9 until it's set to true. This is useful for creating loading bars.

### Examples

```csharp
//This script lets you load a Scene asynchronously. It uses an asyncOperation to calculate the progress and outputs the current progress to Text (could also be used to make progress bars).
//Attach this script to a GameObject
//Create a Button (<b>Create</b>><b>UI</b>><b>Button</b>) and a Text GameObject (<b>Create</b>><b>UI</b>><b>Text</b>) and attach them both to the Inspector of your GameObject
//In Play Mode, press your Button to load the Scene, and the Text changes depending on progress. Press the space key to activate the Scene.
//<b>Note:</b> The progress may look like it goes straight to 100% if your Scene doesn’t have a lot to load.
