| [ConvertCharacterStringLiterals](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/smartstrings/core/settings/parsersettings/convertcharacterstringliterals.md) | This setting is relevant for the [LiteralText](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/smartstrings/core/parsing/literaltext.md). If `true` (the default), character string literals are treated like in "normal" string.Format: string.Format("\t") will return a "TAB" character If `false`, character string literals are not converted, just like with this string.Format: string.Format(@"\t") will return the 2 characters "" and "t" |
| [ErrorAction](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/smartstrings/core/settings/parsersettings/erroraction.md) | Behavior that the [Parser](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/smartstrings/core/parsing/parser.md) applies when a parsing error occurs. The default is [ParseErrorAction.ThrowError](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/smartstrings/core/settings/parseerroraction/throwerror.md). |

## Methods

| Method | Description |

| [AddCustomOperatorChars](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/smartstrings/core/settings/parsersettings/addcustomoperatorchars.md) | Adds a list of allowable operator characters on top of the standard OperatorChars setting. Operator chars and selector chars must be different. |
| [AddCustomSelectorChars](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/smartstrings/core/settings/parsersettings/addcustomselectorchars.md) | Adds a list of allowable selector characters on top of the SelectorChars setting. This can be useful to support additional selector syntax such as math. Characters in DisallowedSelectorChars cannot be added. Operator chars and selector chars must be different. |
