# AddAlias(string, string)

> Maps an address to a Resources path, replacing any existing alias for that address.

## Definition

* **Type:** Method
* **Namespace:** [Unity.Localization.Providers](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/localization/providers.md)
* **Assembly:** UnityEngine.LocalizationRuntimeModule

```csharp
public void AddAlias(string address, string path)
```

### Parameters

**** (\[string]\(https\://learn.microsoft.com/dotnet/api/system.string)): The address callers request through an [AssetKey](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/localization/providers/assetkey.md), for example a table guid address.**** (\[string]\(https\://learn.microsoft.com/dotnet/api/system.string)): The `Resources` path the address resolves to.

### Remarks

An empty or null `address` or `path` is ignored. After aliasing, a load whose [AssetKey.Address](/engine/6000.7/script-reference/unity/localization/providers/assetkey/address.md) matches `address` resolves to `path`.

Alias a guid address to a Resources path, then load through the alias.

### Examples

```csharp
using System.Threading;
using Unity.Localization.Providers;
using UnityEngine;
namespace Unity.Localization.Samples
{
    public class ResourceFolderProviderAddAliasExample
    {
        public async Awaitable Run()
        {
            var provider = new ResourceFolderProvider();
            provider.AddAlias("6f1e2c0a9b3d4e5f", "UI/Logo");   // guid address to Resources path
            var logo = await provider.LoadAssetAsync<Texture2D>(
                new AssetKey("6f1e2c0a9b3d4e5f", typeof(Texture2D)), CancellationToken.None);
            if (logo != null)
                Debug.Log(logo.name);
        }
    }
}
```
