> Returns a WireReference that identifies the node with the given ID within this visualization context.

## Definition

* **Type:** Method
* **Namespace:** [Unity.GraphToolkit.Editor.GraphVisualization](/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unity/graphtoolkit/editor/graphvisualization.md)

```csharp
public WireReference GetWireReference(Hash128 outputPortID, Hash128 inputPortID)
```

### Parameters

**** (\[Hash128]\(/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unityengine/hash128)): The unique identifier of the output port at the start of the connection.**** (\[Hash128]\(/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unityengine/hash128)): The unique identifier of the input port at the end of the connection.

### Returns

| Type                                                                                                           | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           |

| [WireReference](/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unity/graphtoolkit/editor/graphvisualization/wirereference.md) | A [WireReference](/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unity/graphtoolkit/editor/graphvisualization/wirereference.md) that targets the wire identified by `outputPortID` and `inputPortID` within this [Context](/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unity/graphtoolkit/editor/graphvisualization/context.md). |

### Remarks

The returned [WireReference](/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unity/graphtoolkit/editor/graphvisualization/wirereference.md) is only meaningful for this [Context](/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unity/graphtoolkit/editor/graphvisualization/context.md) and references the wire by its port IDs rather than by direct lookup. The wire does not need to exist in the current graph canvas at the time of this call. Throws ObjectDisposedException when you access this property after you call [Context.Dispose](/engine/6000.6/script-reference/unity/graphtoolkit/editor/graphvisualization/context/dispose.md) on the context. Throws ArgumentException when you provide an invalid `outputPortID` or `inputPortID`.

### Examples

```csharp
WireReference wireRef = context.GetWireReference(outputPortID, inputPortID);
wireRef.IsDashed = true;
```
