Made for iOS (MFi) controllers offer out of the box input mappings, but you can set up custom mappings using the Unity Input System package.
Set up custom button bindings
To remap buttons for a MFi device:
- Create an Input Action Asset in your Unity project. For more information, refer to Input action assets.
- Double-click the Input Action Asset to open the Actions Editor.
- In the Actions Editor, create an Action for each button you want to map. For more information, refer to Input Actions Editor references.
- Create a Binding for each action.
- Select a binding and use Path in the Binding Properties panel to assign a specific button for the MFi device.
To map buttons for supported controllers, use the following binding information:
Controller Type | Path to bind button |
|---|---|
| All Gamepads | Gamepad > [Desired button] |
| iOS Gamepads | Gamepad > iOS Gamepad > [Desired button] |
| Specific iOS Gamepads. For example, a PlayStation DualSense controller. | Gamepad > PlayStation Controller > iOS DualSense Gamepad > [Desired button] |
After completing these steps, reference the Input Action Asset in your C# code. For more information, refer to Create actions in code.
