# PhysicsBody.BodyType

> A body is one of these three body types, Dynamic, Kinematic or Static, each of which determines how the body behaves in the simulation.

## Definition

* **Type:** Enum
* **Namespace:** [UnityEngine.LowLevelPhysics2D](/engine/6000.3/script-reference/unityengine/lowlevelphysics2d.md)

## Fields

| Value                                                                                                        | Description                                                                             |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Dynamic](/engine/6000.3/script-reference/unityengine/lowlevelphysics2d/physicsbody/bodytype/dynamic.md) | A dynamic body has positive mass, velocity determined by forces and is moved by solver. |
| [Kinematic](/engine/6000.3/script-reference/unityengine/lowlevelphysics2d/physicsbody/bodytype/kinematic.md) | A kinematic body has zero mass, velocity set by user and is moved by solver |
| [Static](/engine/6000.3/script-reference/unityengine/lowlevelphysics2d/physicsbody/bodytype/static.md) | A static body has zero mass, zero velocity and may be manually moved. |
