# Archive a project

> Make a project inactive and prevent users from accessing it

If you archive a project, it moves from the **Active** tab to the **Archived** tab on the **Projects** page and is no longer listed in the Asset Manager menu. The project's assets become hidden and inaccessible, but Asset Manager doesn't delete them. You can restore access later by [unarchiving the project](/cloud/virtual-private-cloud/admin/organizations-projects/unarchive-project.md).

> Only organization owners can archive a project. Project owners can't archive projects.

To archive a project, complete these steps:

1. In Unity Dashboard, go to **Administration** > **Projects**.
2. Select the project.
3. On the **Settings** tab, select **Archive project**.
4. To confirmation the operation, select **Archive**.
