External data integration

Integrate your external data with Unity
Read time 1 minuteLast updated 2 days ago

Many Unity developers already maintain rich first-party datasets in other repositories. Google Analytics for Firebase, along with its corresponding event-level data in BigQuery, constitute a nearly ubiquitous store. This is data developers want to be able to use beyond Google and with the Unity ecosystem as well. With Unity's Developer Data framework, you can easily integrate these external [to Unity] sources you own directly into your Unity project—bringing them under the same governance model as Unity-collected data. Once integrated:
  • External sources are treated as Developer Data by Unity.
  • An active link will signify that Unity may collect source-specific identifiers as part of your Collection Settings to optimize the linked-data’s usability across the Unity ecosystem.
  • Unity will follow your Developer Data Usage Settings and only use the data according to your instructions.
  • The source data may be augmented by Unity in accordance with your direction to improve or otherwise augment that data (both pre- and post-collection by the service).
External Data Integrations are managed in the Unity Dashboard right alongside your other key Developer Data settings.
