# Connect Unity Version Control to Asset Manager

> Enable the Unity Version Control feature and connect your Asset Manager account. This will allow you to use Unity Version Control with Asset Manager.

## Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you meet the following prerequisites:

* You are the **Owner** of your Unity Version Control (Unity VCS) organization.
* You are the organization **Owner** or **Manager**, or you have the **Asset Manager Admin** role in your Unity organization.

## Enable the connection to Unity VCS from Asset Manager

You can enable your connection to Unity VCS using either one of the below:

* The Asset Manager interface.
* API calls.

To enable Unity VCS, follow these steps:

1. In Asset Manager, on the left side, go to the project list panel and scroll down to the bottom of the project list.
2. Select **Integrations**. The Integrations window opens.
3. On the left side, select **Version Control.**
4. Select the **Connect** button.

When your Asset Manager and Unity VCS are connected, any Asset Manager Admin can start [adding Unity VCS files to your Cloud assets](/asset-manager/uvcs/manage-files.md) from the Unity VCS repositories they have access to.

## Set up a connection using the API

To set up a connection using the API, follow these steps:

1. Use the [`VCSIntegration`](https://services.docs.unity.com/storage/v1/#tag/VCSIntegrations "VCS Integrations") endpoint to create an integration in the Unity organization where you will create assets with files from Unity VCS.
2. Use the [`VCSBrowser`](https://services.docs.unity.com/storage/v1/#tag/VCSBrowser "VCS Browser") endpoint to browse the Unity VCS repositories that you can access and find the files/folder that will be the source for your assets. Save the path to the files.
3. Use the [`VCSDataset`](https://services.docs.unity.com/storage/v1/#tag/VCSDatasets "VCS Dataset") endpoint to create a dataset.

> **Note:**
>
> You can create multiple integrations using the API, however, only one integration is displayed in Asset Manager.
