# Prerequisites

> Before you start using the Python SDK, make sure you meet the following prerequisites.

## Supported Python version

To use the package, you require Python version 3.9.0 and above.

> **Note:**
>
> The built-in Python version on macOS may sometimes crash when you use the SDK. If this happens, use a virtual environment or install Python with [Homebrew](https://brew.sh/).

## Supported platforms

The Reference project supports the following platforms:

* Windows x64
* Windows Arm64
* Mac OSX 13 x64
* Mac OSX 13 Arm64
* Mac OSX 13 x86

## Asset Manager

Ensure you have the right permissions to use Asset Manager. Read more about [getting started with Asset Manager](/asset-manager/get-started.md).
