Asset Manager seats

How seat upgrades affect role permissions and storage allocations across different subscription tiers.

Read time 4 minutes

An Asset Manager seat is a part of Unity Cloud plans. When any user in your organization upgrades from a lower to a higher seat, the organization automatically upgrades to match the new seat level. For example, if a user in a free organization upgrades from a free seat to a Pro seat, the organization upgrades to a Pro organization.

Seats that aren’t upgraded lose the permissions of their original roles and convert to Asset Manager Viewer access, but their role title remains. For example, if you held the role of Asset Manager Contributor, you lose the permissions, but your title still appears as Contributor. To restore full role permissions after an organization upgrade, you need to upgrade all lower-level seats.
