Unity Ads Apple Privacy Manifest support
Starting May 1, 2024, iOS app publishers must comply with Apple's requirement of disclosing reasons for using specific APIs when submitting or updating their apps in the App Store, as stated in Apple’s Describing use of required reason API documentation. This requirement under Apple’s Privacy Manifest framework, enhances transparency on how third-party SDKs handle data and reinforces user privacy.
The Unity Ads SDK 4.10 meets Apple’s privacy manifest requirement. Refer to the Unity Ads SDK 4.10 changelog for more information.
Notice for Advertisement Legacy package users
Unity developers using Advertisement Legacy package versions 4.4.2 or earlier won't have Apple Privacy Manifest support from May 1, 2024. To maintain your app monetization, you have the option to do one of the following:
- Switch to Unity LevelPlay for immediate Apple Privacy Manifest support, by installing the Ads Mediation package version 8.0.0 in the Unity Editor.
- Wait 4–6 weeks for the Advertisement Legacy package to be updated with the Apple Privacy Manifest support.

New privacy legislations: CPA and CTDPA
Two new privacy legislations are in effect as of July 1, 2023 - the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA) and Colorado Privacy Act (CPA).
If you are a publisher using Unity Consent, no action is needed from you because your users will experience new privacy choices that are compliant with CTDPA and CPA already. If you are a publisher implementing your own developer consent, it’s your responsibility to ensure your solution is compliant with CPA and CTDPA.
